Wiring plug has a lock-type clip that has to be gently pryed up -- plug (which is a weatherproof unit and can be a bear to move) can then be pulled out. The fuel pump is in the gas tank and the only way you can access the pump is by dropping the gas tank. This a fair amount of work so make sure the pump is indeed defective.Can ne1 tell me how to change fuel pump on 92 chevy lumina?
John R is most likely right. Most modern, fuel injected cars have the fuel pump inside the gas tank. Even five gallons of gas weighs quite a bit.
Removing the gas tank is DANGEROUS.
It doesn't sound like you have a repair manual. Your local library should have one. Call them up and ask. You can look at it there but you will not be allowed to take the manual home.
