Fuel pumps are known to go bad from 1995 to2003 on Asro van and I just want to be prepared considering I have had to put 2 on my current van which is at 130k...How do you change the fuel pump on a 1997 Astro van 2 wheel drive?
You need to drop the fuel tank and use a brass or wood drift with a hammer to open up the top, (don't use steel, you'll blow your self up or just cause a fire) where the fuel pump and sending unit is. Try to change the fuel pump with a near empty tank. Sloshing fuel make the tank very hard to handle
Your gonna need to remove the filler hose, an electrical connector, and maybe some hose clamps and hoses.
