If you re-thread it half the threads will be missing and it will probably strip eventually, engulfing you and your car in a ball of fire. If that's not acceptable you need to replace the nut and whatever the nuts goes on if the threads on that were damaged too.How to change a fuel pump?
It all depends on how badly damaged the threads got. Maybe easier to just replace the fuel line.
