Well sorry to say the pump is in the gas tank.
You will have to drop the tank to get at it. It is not a realy hard job, but it really depends on how much gas is in the tank.
The more gas the harder the job.
Being this is not a job for a lay men, I would advise that you not try it. Playing with gas is something you have to be carfull about.How do you change the fuel pump to a 2000 dodge Neon?
i don't remember if you have to drop the tank on the 2000 or not i do believe you can do it without but you will need to get under the car and look for where all the lines come in/out of the tank i also believe it is a module type pump but you can change the pump or as a whole assy any way you need to locate then remove the lines and electrical connects then remove the white retaining ring(believe it is white i change pumps so often brands tend to blend together) unscrew the ring remove assy replace pump and filter (both) and reinstall make sure you replace the module seal ring( large o ring) and reinstall the lines etc. i would check thoroughly befor throwing parts as a plugged fuel filter can be a start as well as a fuel pump relay being badHow do you change the fuel pump to a 2000 dodge Neon?
And don't buy the cheapest pump you can find!! Why people insist on using a 30 dollar pump from autozone on a bigger job like this is beyond anything I can understand... you'll be doing the job in a year again, tops.
