I understand your saying the fuel pump is in the gas tank. Drain the gas out of the tank and then take the tank out. Then there is a large ring on top of the gas tank and to release it most of the time turn counter clock wise but you need to hit it with small hammer first by tapping it around to get it loose to turn). The whole unit will come out. The fuel pump is on that. Buy a new fuel pump and the instruction will be with it ; to put a new one it.
Get a motor manuel to cover that year of car. They are around thirty dollars.
