How to get fuel pump to work again on a 1989 Peugeot 309 XE?

The car works fine when I use it every day. But when I do not use it for a couple of days fuel doen't come up to the fuel pump %26amp; it does not start. Once the mechanic did come over and after working on it he got the car starting once again without changing anything.



I would like to know how to get fuel flowing once again through the fuel pump?



Or is there some way how to get the car to work again?

depends on if its the fuel pump or the fuel sender unit inside the tank if the senders faulty a replacement could be just over 100 quid if its the pump then you would be better of scrapping it not very helpfull i know but its a very expensive part to replace or repair as in most cases they are coded to the car via the ecu
