I need to know if anyone has ever changed the fuel pump on a 1999 ford contour. Do I have to drop the tank or can i get to it from under the back seat. Any help would be great. Thanks.How to get to fuel pump on 1999 ford contour.?
You can get at it I believe from under the back seat but you will want to disconnect the battery first and do not forget to drain the tank first to make it easier and reduce the mess while changing it.
Having changed a few of various types of cars while working at a Ford Garage be glad it is not changing the whole tank. Good Luck. If your unsure be sure to ask when picking up the new fuel pump. If you get it at say Auto zone they will be able to provide you with directions I believe. THE FUEL PUMP IS IN THE GAS TANK.....ITS ELEC, SO TAKE YOUR HOT SIDE OF THE BATTERY OFF FIRST.....DROP THE TANK AND CHANGE.......BACK MY ANSWER WITH SERVICE AT THE FORD STORE..OK..How to get to fuel pump on 1999 ford contour.?

Its mounted inside the tank. You can either go in from below the back seats or drop the tank.
